Just in time for season 4.5, the continuation of my Shawn/Lassie picspam series, this time with season three!

Click here to view my Shawn/Lassie picspam for season one, and here for the season two picspam.

The first time (that we know of) that Shawn and Lassie ever met! Dunno if they'll be recounting this when asked for their meet-cute story, since it's likely neither of them remember it, but... Lassie moustache! Which warrants a place in any picspam.

Randomly one of my favourite moments of gratuitous ~touching~ because there is really no point to it whatsoever. "I don't know. But!" *prods chest* "... I don't know."
Also! Lookit all the pretty colours. :D

Heh. You guys look all pink.

Eeheehee. That was entirely for Lassie's benefit.

I played this scene over many times, and am now ready to give it the benefit of the doubt and say that yes, Shawn does slap Lassie on the ass. Again.

I don't care that this ended up being about Jules, it was an awesome opportunity for a shoulder rub, which I am always up for. Also, that last cap is awesome.

JFC, he's adorable. This is... just Lassiter actually making a joke (Medic! My heart!) and the guys acknowledging it. Look, shut up, it's my picspam.

Shawn is petting Lassie with a mannequin arm. Your argument is invalid.

Nope, still not above inclusion just for ~touching~. Also it is pretty.

Hee. See, Lassiter actually appreciates Shawn's Ways when his Ways are not about humiliating him.

You've disappointed your BF, Lassiepants.
I love the teamwork between Shawn and Lassiter in this episode, how they come together against their opposition, the SWAT team.

This seems somewhat boring, but I just like how Lassiter does that little aside for Shawn, sharing a bit of mockery of Luntz. There's also something about that head movement Shawn does at the end. IDK.

Quote because Lassiter said "nutsy", lolol what is that. Anyway, A+ for teamwork! Hoorah.

There is so much touching and territoriality in this scene it is absolutely ridiculous, and I lovelovelove it. Lassiter is basically all "MINE, BETCH, STEP OFF" and Shawn is all "lol debriefing".

I erupted in fangirlish giggles the likes of which have never left my mouth upon that line. <<<333
It's fun to see Shawn and Carlton being genuinely angry with each other. That hasn't happened very much since the very beginning of the series. Though the line "I know you don't like my methods. I know you don't like me," makes me sad, because I'm positive it's false. Sure, Lassiter is irritated by Shawn, but he doesn't dislike him. I know that he's secretly fond of him, and would probably fall into a funk if he was deprived of the challenge Shawn provides.

Poor Gus. He comes out the loser when Shawn/Lassie fun times are had by all. Also, I've noticed that after this episode Gus is increasingly hostile towards Lassiter. I assume it's some weird kind of jealousy, which I guess is understandable... we know that Gus doesn't have any non-work friends besides Shawn, so a hint, however small, that Shawn is getting along with another guy could annoy him.
Or, y'know, maybe he just doesn't like it when Shawn calls someone else his "partner".

Lol, Shawn's face. XD

Lookit Shawn, busting down doors and interrupting interrogations to save Lassie. This whole episode is basically one long Shawn/Lassie scene, and no, I did not restrain myself at all.

I think Lassie brought pretty groceries because he knew I'd be picspamming this. The colours in this are so lovely.
This is one of my all-time favourite Shawn/Lassie scenes. It's so sweet, sincere and honest. I love it.

Brother?
Step-brother?
Kid who lives down the street and eats nothing but mayonnaise on saltines?
Somewhere in-between, IMO.

Look, I didn't write this scene. I didn't direct it. I didn't ask for it to turn out this suggestive, but that's what happened: this is the scene where Shawn removes an article of Lassiter's clothing and blindfolds him, all the while sucking on a phallic object. While Gus watches. I'm not even attempting to read between the lines, guys. It's just what's there.

Bwahahahaha, Lassie is wearing Shawn's clothes. That's so couple-y, I love it.
Also, there's not even a plot-related reason for it. He spilled tapioca on his other shirt? Okay? Why is that important? I'm convinced someone just thought it would be really amusing if Lassiter wore one of Shawn's shirts.

Hah, this scene is epic, love it. I broke it up into chunks so it looks like I picspamm'd more. :D

One good thing about Drimmer (besides instigating this magnificent episode): he ships Shawn/Lassie. Or at least, he sees what we're talking about.
Extra tidbit of frustrating and excellent awesomeness from the 3x11 DVD commentary:
"Initially when the story came out that Lassiter and Shawn were secret lovers, Shawn wanted to be on the record that it was... what was it?"
"Lassiter pursued him."
"It was one of the best lines ever."
"Shawn wanted it on the record that Lassiter was the one who pursued him."
"We just framed them as lovers."
"Which he had no problem with!"
I didn't match all the voices to who said what, though I do know the last bit was Tim Omundson. :D

Action! Fantastic teamwork, communicating through super-intense eye contact, fun times had by all. I love that gun hand-off for some random reason that probably includes the ~touching~ factor.

And Kelly Kulchak's (executive producer for Psych) all: "See, we have to figure out a way that he gets back and hates them again." And I'm all: "BASTARDS."
No, they do work better under an antagonistic relationship to fall back on, but once in a while I would like some acknowledgement that no, he doesn't actually hate them.
Kelly Kulchak and I are in a fight.

Touching! Fun times. After the whirlwind of excellence that is "Lassie Did a Bad, Bad Thing", it's back to basics.

Love the outtakes from this scene. I wish they'd stuck with the squeaky "Love me!" instead of "Come here often?", that was funnier. And Shawn/Lassie-er.

... and rounding it all out with some epic schadenfreude. \o/

Huzzah! I love season three so much, it's awesome.
I'm a bit bummed out, though, now that I arrive at season 4 with no DVD source to cap from. I might wait until the season 4 DVDs come out to do the season 4 picspam.
Don't use my coloured caps for nefarious purposes, like icon-making, without asking first & crediting this journal and/or picspam.

*flails* Yay! Another installment! \o/
My god your colouring is gorgeous. It's just so vibrant. And colourful.
1. In the borrowing Lassie one--Shawn seemed really, I dunno, jealous/bitter in that scene. It wasn't his usual cheery sarcastic snark, it was hostile and kind of--for lack of a better word--catty. He would have given Mindy a run for her money for Bitchiest Banana, imo. I loved it.
2. Ah, the mannequin scenes. I love love love him making a joke, and how he's so pleased with himself afterward! ♥ His faaaaaace.
3. I love Gus Walks Into a Bank. I love that episode. I love Lassie's smiles at Shawn, and their teamwork, and Lassie's "Hands off!", when he literally pries the SWAT guy's hand off of Shawn. I (of course) love the 'you are so sexy right now' scene. It's the enthusiasm he says it with, too, and the way he hops about. That was an awesome episode.
4. I love Lassie wearing Shawn's shirt. :D I am curious as to how he came by it, though. He was living in the Psych office then still, right? So does Shawn keep clothes there?
5. Oh, Drimmer. You were a crazy SOB, but you did wonders in terms of Shawn/Lassie. The show basically said it was plausible for them to be lovers. That is... really awesome. I believe I made some sort of squeak of happiness at this whole scene. With the eye contact and the synchronized movements and the gun hand-over (I loved that a lot too, btw) and all. Whee, thanks for the commentary snippet--I do have the S3 DVDs, but I haven't had the chance to check those out yet.
Season 4.5! Not long now. :)

Ok, I'm going to be frank with you (no, Shawn, my name is not Frank)... I'm not a serious Shassie lover. Yes I have posted a pre-slash moment (apparently if you look it's there), but I'm not a slash person per se. It's normally not what I look for. BUT God they make Shassie seem reasonable in these first few seasons. I actually enjoy Shules as a nice 'AWWWW' couple. Yet there are so many times when I watch this show when I'm like DUDE, they are so sweet in a love-hate kind of way. So I will read Shassie fic if it is done well (as opposed to het of any kind of my favorite ships). Shassie (had they actually come out and said that Shawn was gay instead of making it some kind of joke) would have been okay in my world. That being said... there is a PINEAPPLE in Lassie's groceries!!!!! Who else thinks he bought it for Shawn?!!! Raise your hand people! *raises hand diligently and looks around*

Note to Lassie lovers! I was watching a rerun of Criminal Minds (ep "L.D.S.K.") and the bad guy was Lassie!!!! I was like *gape* holy ****, Lassie's gone dark side!!! AND he had these totally huge muscles and a Rangers (military kind) tat! He was so... VISCIOUS!!!! And of course slammed his elbow into my fav character's head, but I'm so willing to forgive him for the serious deranged badass that he portrayed! (Note: extreme usage of exclamation points betrays my innermost love of the usage of the guy who can play both a badass cop and a badass sniper serial killer) I could see the resemblances between the characters, people!

The tv guide said it was from the year 2005 so that hopefully narrows the season down. It should be one of the first few seasons.

Sorry it's taken me so long to respond... these picspams have introduced me to a whole new world of Getting A Shit-Ton Of Comments, lol. Not quite used to it.
"Shassie (had they actually come out and said that Shawn was gay instead of making it some kind of joke) would have been okay in my world."
... I thought this was interesting, as it goes completely against my understanding of Shawn Spencer. Shawn doesn't take /anything/ seriously, so why should an exception be made for sexuality? He's not earnest and sincere about his attraction to the women in his life, so why would he be earnest and sincere about potentially being attracted to men?
Besides, I never thought he was gay. I find Shawn to be very believable as a potentially bisexual man. He's very clearly attracted to women, I'm not about to ignore that.
Apologies if this sounded argumentative... I just really love my OTP. :D

Gorgeous picspam. The caps are so beautiful and your comments are great. I don't know how anyone can watch this show and not see the Shassie love.

And am I the only one who dislikes Kelly Kulchak? She adds nothing to any of the little q & a videos and I find any commentary she's included on unlistenable. She always talks over the juiciest bits of the commentary.

Date: 2010-01-29 03:34 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] absinthe-spoons.livejournal.com
You are DEFINITELY not the only one who dislikes Kelly Kulchak. I know that there's a certain feminine touch that she adds to the commentary, and I've noticed something missing from the dynamic on the few occasions that she's not commentating, but most of the time she annoys the hell out of me. The worst is her apparent grudge against Lassiter, that she's always talking about changes she wanted made that would make him appear less lovable. Like she wanted that hug between Lassie and Jules in "60 Million Years Off" written out.
And thank you! I don't understand why anyone would fail to see Shawn/Lassie either. It's so very blatant.

I've always thought that Lassy wearing Shawn's shirt was a way to emphasize the logic of Drimmer's plan. That way, if Drimmer got to kill them at the end, the thing about Shawn and Lassy being former lovers would have made even more sense if one of them was wearing the other's clothes.

I really love Drimmer. He sees the interactions between the two and concludes that people would believe that they were together. And we all know that they totally would. Best episode ever.

Your picspams are so pretty, btw.

Once again, this is perfection. So many great moments! "You are so sexy right now!" has to win as my BEST MOMENT EVER but, gosh, ALL of "Lassie Did a Bad, Bad Thing" -- and then a million other tiny little things, like Shawn constantly hating on Lassiter's date to the reuinon -- even though I'm about to go to bed, I am kind of tempted to bust out the DVDs and rewatch pretty much the whole season.

"See, we have to figure out a way that he gets back and hates them again." And I'm all: "BASTARDS."
No, they do work better under an antagonistic relationship to fall back on, but once in a while I would like some acknowledgement that no, he doesn't actually hate them.
Kelly Kulchak and I are in a fight.

Yeah, I feel ya. I know the conflict has to be kept up between Lassiter and Team Shawn/Gus but, come on, they can still have cute episode closers. "From the Earth to the Starbucks"? "Scary Sherry"? "CLOUDY, CHANCE OF MURDER"? All are adorable and friendshippy and yet still within the bounds of believability for the characters. I'll be honest, for all that I LOVE LOVE LOVE the episode, I'm still a little disappointed that "Lassie Did a Bad, Bad Thing" didn't quite get that at the end (I'm with Gus, ha, when Lassiter says, "Oh, it's the least I could do," and Gus is like, "...Yes. It is." AW POOR GUS. Lassiter loves you guys, he just can't properly express it. :/)

OMG AN EPISODE I MISSED HOW THE HELL HAVE I MANAGED TO MISS A WHOLE FREAKING EPISODE OMG

I don't recognize the first picture, the flashback to meeting Lassiter for the first time with the moustache, but now that I know it's actually in an episode, it completely explains a small section of fandom that I'd somehow completely missed out on and didn't quite understand.

Actually, I have no memory of those first four scene-caps. How many episodes is that? I'm not sure whether to be irritated at missing episodes or excited that I now have new Psych to watch that I didn't even know about. *bounces*

Oh, and much love for the picspam. :) After the second season, the third season just seems so much better, and I love how much you accentuate all the colors in the show. It's one of the little things that I love so much about it, how immensely colorful Psych is compared to, say, Law & Order, which is all blues and browns and greys and blacks.

Oh my god, that episode! I can't believe I missed it and it was so goddamn amazing, and now there are so many little bits of so many different stories that make so much more sense now. *sincerely hugs you* Really, Lassiter is usually my favorite character, but Shawn is so fascinating and complex and I love love love the delicate way they're building up his whole life, and how many layers they can add to a world in just a few minutes of honest seriousness. Henry making sure he looks nice in the mirror, that little wave... *wibble* I'm so glad the writers are putting the effort into letting these characters (at least, some of them) breathe and grow and change.

Also, Lassiter was totally bullshitting the whole way through, and Madeline was totally onto him but let him do it anyway. :) Loved their bonding over the gun and knowing the same movies, and Lassiter realizing that this woman he'd really connected with is part of Shawn's life, and most definitely re-evaluating Shawn at least a little bit in his head. I just wish we could get to see him actually figure Shawn out, because he pretty much has all the pieces by now, especially when Madeline told him about her memory abilities.

Plus, much love for her psychology skills. A pretty decent presentation of a trained psychologist/psychiatrist (can't remember which she is), for a show that doesn't really need to be too accurate in order to entertain, but still goes that extra mile anyway. *bear hugs the whole show while wiggling in glee*

Meanwhile the show is slowly gasping "Can not BREATHE!"... :D I'm glad to see you enjoyed it (I spent three days last week introducing my brother to the series and watched the entire second half of the second season and the entire third season straight through... I'm pretty sure I've memorized a lot of the lines) :)Yeah, I love the fact that Maddy has tonal eidetic memory, it gives Shawn a basis for what he can do.

You mentioned that you don't remember the first four screencaps -- I assume you mean the first four scenes? The first scene is from 3x01, which you've said that you've now seen, but the second and third scenes are from 3x02, "Murder? ... Anyone? ... Anyone? ... Bueller?".
The fourth scene is from the same episode as the scenes after it, so I assume you've just forgotten it.
