Hey, writing from a brand-new laptop here. My old one decided to call it quits on Wednesday -- it was pretty old, time to die, whatevs. So I ordered a new one yesterday from the campus computer store and it came in today, tg, I never would have survived the weekend without internet. I'm sticking with Windows, can't afford a Mac. Besides, this thing's got all these features -- I mean, really, fingerprint recognition? We live in the future, guys!

I took that Political Spectrum quiz that was posted on ontd_p. Apparently I'm a center-left moderate social libertarian. Who knew? Judging by the comparison of my results to everyone's results, my general leanings are pretty average. As compared to the rest of the quiz-taking internet, I guess.

I also subscribed to Zip.ca (that's like Netflix for Canadians) this past week. I'm just using it for TV on DVD, I'm not really a movie person. Movies either don't demand enough investment or not enough from me. I joined it initially to get my hands on The Fall, having been beaten over the head with the adorability of Lee Pace by Pushing Daisies. I got discs from "Studio 60" and "Dexter" season 2 this week. Well, actually I just got "Studio 60" so far, but "Dexter" should be here soon. Matthew Perry looks really tired.

Perry does look tired but Bradley Whitford ages ten years every episode! I have love/hate relationship with Studio 60. When it's good, it's good (not West Wing good but good) but there are some very frustrating elements to it (I don't want to give anything away though before you've seen) Aaron Sorkin seriously needs to dial down the meta. We know you went out with Kristin Chenoweth-get over it! Oh, Mariel off Invasion is in the last few episodes!

Ahh, but Dexter. There's a show!

Aaron Sorkin dated Kristin Chenoweth? I didn't know that. Man, I love Kristin in Pushing Daisies.
Yeah, even from the first few episodes that he's broadcasting his personal views under a pretty thin veil. It probably only bothers me because it's been pointed out before, though.
Mariel! There's definitely something to look forward to. Awesome.

Yeah! Perry is Sorkin and Harry is Kristin. And basically he uses the show to win all the arguements they probably ever had! Even that one about her appearing on the 700 Show and Star Spangled banner actually happened. She did an interview where she said she should be credited for the writing since he used stuff she said so much. After awhile the anti Christianity thing begins to grate. But there are great moments and some really funny bits. Steven Weber and Timothy Busfield were my favourites in it.

I didn't even realise she ws in it until I was IMDBing her!
