Hey. So. Just finished watching PB 4.04. I dunno, it was okay. It was, tbqh, exactly what I was expecting. After the craziness and emotional roller-coaster-ness of last episode, all I felt like seeing was a mildly entertaining caper with costumes and quips and a dash of suspense. And that's all it really was, so cool.

Um, all right, I guess I have some comments.
- Continuing to enjoy the parts with Linc, and continuing to be surprised by said fact. I liked when he scaled that building and disrupted the security feed, that was cool. And his little moment with Bellick near the end was nice, even though Bellick was irritating and boring for pretty much the whole episode. I like his position as a father figure on the team.
- I laughed when, at the end, Alex approaches Roland and Roland almost falls out of his chair in fright, and then Alex raising his hands to calm him down. I'm a little reassured that Roland won't be betraying Mahone, like, immediately -- I was worried after last episode that he'd get so sick of everyone pushing him around that he'd sell them out. And he still might, but I think he may have the gist of why Alex attacked him, so that may placate him for a while.
- Love Alex's shades and glasses. So sexy. Alex continues to be the hottest thing on screen. I feel like I'm reading a news report. This episode was dull. My favourite things about it -- i.e. Alex's sexiness -- are quite superficial.
- I actually loved when Michael said "But the ocean IS your backyard!" They finally let some of Wentworth's dorky (yet entertaining) sense of humour shine through. My only concern is that that WAS Wentworth. Wentworth just basically plays Wentworth. That's a little sad.
- T-Bag's story was actually one of my favourite elements in this episode. Yes, it was completely disconnected and jarred with the rest of what was going on. But what was going on wasn't that exciting anyways, so that's really okay. One objection: holy crap, cleavage much? I don't think I need to elaborate there. But god, woman, get a shirt that covers at least some of your chest.
- There's a good bit in the promo for the next episode where Sara returns to the warehouse and tells everyone about her new stalker, and Alex identifies him as Cameron's murderer. I'm glad he's getting that out there. I want to see people's reactions.

Hah, that's all. That's pretty sad. I'm trying to get into an online tutorial right now but the internet is pretty much dead. I guess it's a Tuesday thing. Lol, I'd laugh if it was because everyone was downloading Prison Break. That is exactly what it is.
Oh hay, I finished Invasion. It was pretty awesome, tbh. I mean, the special effects were crap and some of the actors were crap and the dialogue was occasionally unbearable and urgh god no more pregnant ladies please and everything that was explicitly ABOUT aliens soon got on my nerves... but I watch Prison Break, I'm used to tuning out the bad parts to get to the good stuff. William Fichtner is so much fun to watch as Tom Underlay. Tom's a nice break from chronically unhappy Alexander Mahone, with his sense of humour, snarkiness and general unflappability. My favourite episodes were (um, SPOILERS?) the one where Derek latches on to Mariel, the one where Tom kidnaps the kids (guh he is such a sexy motherfucker in the white shirt & jeans), the one where Tom and Russell fight (basically just for that scene, lol -- it was hot), and the last couple of episodes. Love when Tom and Russell shoot all those hybrid military-looking guys at the pier.
I've ordered MDs from TV Trader. Lol, the Fichtner addiction just cannot be cured, I know it. And I know that MDs has got crap writing and (some) crap acting, but whatever, it's WF in scrubs. You know I'm gonna devour it.
I wanted to make a general inquiry to those few people who read my journal. Last night, in the couple of hours between when Prison Break started showing on national television to when I finished downloading it, I was staying off the internet in mortal fear of spoilers. But, see, I was still being really lazy and I was still sugar crashing from a dessert dinner our rez floor had at Caffe Demetre's (I had a slice of Brownie Cheesecake... about the smallest thing you can get there, but still way too much for me). So I was searching for news on Huddy (omfg ep.6, I cannot wait) when I found a community called [livejournal.com profile] cuddy_fest . It's a community for fic about Cuddy -- well, also art, but mostly fic. And they have this huge database of plot bunnies and prompts for the artist there. So I plagiarized some of the prompts and bent them to my will and brainstormed like crazy, because I'm just cool like that. Most of them involve Alex and/or Pam, but there's also ideas focusing on some of my other random favourites, like Wheeler, Kellerman, Nika, Debra Jean, Jane, Lang, Sullins... I really do have a fondness for minor characters. So my question is, would anyone like to start a fic community with me? Just a small one, no obligations or strings, just an outlet for some creative ideas that I've had floating around. I'd love to see other people's plot ideas too.
Finally, I have a question about Alex's biography in the Prison Break Files thinger. I never had the occasion to read that, and I heard through someone else that apparently Alex has a brother? Peter, I think? I don't even know if he's supposed to be alive, or what. One of my plot ideas references him and I really don't know anything about him. Is there anyone reading this who has read Alex's mini-biography? I feel so uninformed.

Hello, mindtwin. :)

Again, my thoughts basically mirror yours. I liked Linc, *loved* Roland flinching when Alex came near, Wentworth's slightly-crazed voice (which, I actually totally love. I *love* that voice, I do), T-Bag... Yeah. Everything.

I also like those Invasion episodes the best, I think. I haven't seen them for a while.

I have that bio! I have the book, actually. Somewhere... Anyway, it doesn't say anything more than that he has a brother. Whose name is Peter. :/ I mean, it *does* say other stuff, just not about the brother.

I think it's great that you're thinking of creating a fic community, and would offer my services if I was any good. Which I am not.

Hey, lady. (I can't stop saying that. Lady = word of the week.)
You must must tell me what else is in the book pertaining to Alex. I don't even care, the smallest details. I mean, if you can find it.
You should join anyway, if only to marvel in the wonder that is my wealth of plot bunnies. You could be inspired to no end. Please please? You don't have to write if you don't want to. I don't have anyone else who likes Alex/Pam the way I do. *sad puppy dog eyes*

Part One

Oh, I'm loving the use of 'lady'! And ITA.

Erm... Hold on. *searches piles of stuff* Wow. That was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be. Anyway, found it! So... You want to know every detail, eh? Well. This could be kind of long -- I apologize in advance.

- They have an interview with Pam. Well, an 'excerpt'. It says "Note: This interview took place on October 31, 2004, after Pamela and Alex Mahone had divorced. It was conducted as part of Mahone's clearance for his upcoming promotion." Want me to transcribe it? Or give you the gist?
- The first part of his thingy is mostly what Sullins (or 'Dick', as I prefer) revealed in that S2 episode -- I forget what it was called, which is so unlike me. Moving on, it was, you know, how his parents got divorced, his mom citing spousal abuse but his father retaining custody in spite of that... Joining the military 'as a means of escape'... Going from infantry to Special Ops to the FBI.
- And then, there's the Pam interview. After that, things get shifty. As in, they start referring to him & some of his actions as 'suspicious'.
- Ha! But they mention Officer Tuggle. I forgot about that. Lol, I love that guy. His name is just too awesome.
- Aaand, then there's a bit about Alex learning about Cam being hit by the car...
- Huh, another part of the Pam debriefing. This part's about Michael coming to talk to her. You know, looking over all this again is just reminding me how much I love Season 2. I may just have to watch it again.
- Okay, here we go. There's the Internal Affairs review of Alex. This is where it mentions the brother. There is also a random sticky note on it that is supposedly from Wheeler to Lang which states, 'Lang - I pulled some strings with Sullins in IA to get this. Now I see why he's so tight-lipped about his past. -Wheeler'
Mini-bio:
ALEXANDER MAHONE
Age: 42 Born: May 4, 1963 in Davis, California
Father: Edward R. Mahone (Assistant Director of Operations - Drushal-Dower Power Plant)
Mother: Cynthia L. Mahone (Textiles) Siblings: One brother (Peter)
Marital Status: Divorced from Pamela Mahone
Medical History: High cholesterol/heart murmer
Psych Evaluations: All clean
Internal Affairs Reports: One -- #B4413958 Re: Oscar F. Shales Investigation

- And then there are the sub-headings of FAMILY HISTORY, MILITARY HISTORY, and WORK HISTORY. I guess I'll sum them up.
Family History:
- police reports & court documents show repeated history of physical & mental abuse towards Alex, his brother Peter, and his mother Cynthia by his father.
- in '93, Alex married Pamela Austin. Married for twelve years, they divorced, citing irreconcilable differences.
Military History:
- joined at 18
- re-enlisted four years later; assigned to Psychological Operations Group. Then there's a description of what PSYOP does. They use logic, fear, desire, & other mental factors to promote specific reactions/behaviours, basically.
- was awarded the Medal of Honor & the Defense Superior Service Medal.
Work History:
- joined FBI in 1991, working out of Denver, Colorado doing counter-intelligence.
- was transfered to Chicago in 2002, assigned to Shales case in 2004.

Aand, there are random mentions of him throughout the rest -- they have kind of recapped Season 1 & 2 in 'Fugitive Sightings' and the like. Plus, there's a some stuff that is supposed to be from Wheeler to Lang. Ex:
'Lang,
Enclosed is a brief summary of a man who first appeared on our radar during the Cutback Motel standoff in Montana. I have repeatedly tried to discuss his involvement with Mahone, but have consistently been reminded that I am not the one running the investigation -- he is. The gentleman in question is extremely crafty, and has gotten Burrows and Scofield out of several jams. If you think it's wise, I'd like to discuss the matter with Agent Sullins at IA. I feel like Mahone is letting a grudge against me stand in the way of our investigation and this manhunt.
-Wheeler'
Oh, man. Gotta love S2 Mahone. Btw, he's talking about Kellerman. Love the description of him -- 'extremely crafty'. Lol.

Yes. My comment was SO LONG, it needed to be in two parts. I am so embarrassed.

Anyway, some of the stuff in it isn't exactly accurate (or is completely contradictory) when compared to the show, but it's still pretty neat. I think so, anyway.

Hee. I think I could manage that... if you insist. And, dammit, those puppy dog eyes get me every time! :P Plus, Alex/Pam FTW, I don't even care anymore.

Also: pretty sure this is the longest comment ever. Sorry. *is embarrassed some more*

Oh, god, I'm sorry, I didn't know it was so long. Thanks so much for going to all that trouble for me.
I really don't like Pam's last name, 'Austin'. She is not an Austin. Pam will forever be Pamela Oakes to me.
Yeah, didn't Alex say he was from Boardman, Ohio (Mahoning County, lol)? I'm going to have to pick through this and figure out what I'll treat as canon. This was incredibly useful, thank you. *hugz*

Oh, I'm not complaining or anything. It was nice to look at it all again. Remember the good ol' days when Prison Break sort of made sense. ;)

Yeah, I'm not a huge fan, either...

Yes, yes he did. Maybe he was born in California, but grew up in Ohio? Or just made up something 'cause he didn't really feel like sharing his life story with Whistler. Or something.

No problem. :D Glad to be of service. *hugs back*

I thought of that too (the born vs. grew up thing), but I still take it with a grain of salt.
Austin's the last name of my dad's girlfriend's children. Not that it's bad associations or anything (they're lovely people), but Austin means them, Oakes means Pam. My word is gospel. Hallelujah.
*looks for the book at Amazon* Holy crap, only $8? This is so mine. Right now.
You keep inspiring me to buy stuff. You're going to inspire me right into massive debt. :P

Hey, it's Moss. So yeah, I did take down notes about this ep because I knew there would be stuff that I'd want to mention but would probably end up forgetting. Anyway, I'm gonna give you my thoughts but first, I just want to say that I agree with you about this episode: it was entertaining but not as good as the last. 4.03 kicked all kinds of ass. Anywho:
-I thought it was adorable when Michael was like "the ocean is your frontyard!" I don't even care that it was actually just Wentworth being a dork, it really was too cute.
-You know that usually I don't like T-bag a whole lot but I have to say he really cracked me up when he was trying to spell Pfeiffer. Also, do you know who that receptionist was, in the office? I dunno, she looked kind of familiar, I feel like I've seen her somewhere.
-Aw, ok tell me you dislike Sara at least a little less? She was just so sad when she found out about her fill-in daddy.
-Speaking of which, I want to know why Michael and Sara never have any physical contact like, ever. I mean, obviously they can't make out all the time but when Mike found out about Bruce, couldn't he have given her a hug? At the very least?
-I thought their costumes were really funny. Mahone I can see as a cop, but Linc? haha no way. Btw, I am also totally loving him. I never payed much attention to him before but he's just so cool now. Also, has Dominic Purcell always had tatoos or are they new?
-So, with only 10 minutes left in the ep I was feeling really proud that an entire episode had passed without me bursting into tears. But then came the flashback scene with Mahone looking at the picture of his kid and I know it was only like 5 seconds like but I definitely teared up. I am taking this a lot harder than I thought I would. Also, while this may surprise you, I think that glasses are a good look on Mahone.
-I can't stand the scenes with Gretchen. I'm so used to seeing her as the crazy BAMF and I don't like this torture stuff. Is it even necessary? Like, at all? She's too cool for this.
-That bartender who was hanging with Sara has to be the coolest bartender ever. I hope she isn't dead.
-Who were those random asian guys at the end? Have we even seen them before? Wth?
-And again with the tears when Mahone was talking to Roland (who I still think is a stupid douche who will probably rat the entire team out the scumbag. I'm glad Bellick walked away). But I did think it was funny how he nearly jumped out of his skin.
-Yay for Michael changing out of his ugly ass grey sweater! Boo for stupid Wyatt following Sara. Why is she even walking by herself? That's retarded. Anyway, I hope Mahone kills him.
And that's it. I know it's kind of long for a comment but I wrote down exactly what I was thinking at the time. Anyway, do you think you will write about Bones too? This is a pretty easy way to communicate in case we don't have enough time to talk on msn. Ok ttyl!

Hey Moss,
The drawback to this method of communication is that I'm not sure whether you're gonna get e-mail notifications of this reply. Oh well, I'm sure you'll find it someday.
- As I understand it, the receptionist is from the OC.
- Sorry bud, Sara is boring. She's like... she's like a character from Lost. It doesn't matter to me if their/her lives/life are/is made of suck. I don't really care because they/she don't/doesn't MAKE me care. If Sara were any use to A-Team at all (instead of this episode basically being "The A-Team pursue Scylla" + "Sara emotes and considers falling off the wagon (again)" + "T-Bag goggles receptionist boobs"), then maybe I would feel for her. Right now, she's just extraneous. That said, *sobs* R.I.P. Bruce.
- Too much MiSa already in 4.04. 4.03 was the perfect amount. More of that, please.
- Yay Linc! Love him climbing up the building like a spider-monkey.
- Damn straight, Alex is spexy.
- Gretch escapes next episode, I believe. There's this insane new promo, I'm linking it in my next entry.
- I'm worried cuz IMDb (which is not, granted, the most reliable news source) lists Georgie (the bartender) in the credits for next episode. I can't imagine why, except that Wyatt would want to get back at her or something. Normally I would say that's ridiculous, but Wyatt likes to waste time killing innocent and harmless people.
- Yeah, that whole scene with the MiSa phonecall at the end was just "Panama" all over again, back when Mahone and Lang were tailing her to the ship. Jesus, will she ever learn?
I don't mean to bash Sara, but hey, I've given Linc a reprieve. That took a huge change in perspective. Sara hasn't earned that.

Yeah, this episode was riddled with plot holes. I have my belief permanently and willingly suspended for this show, but even I noticed them: the obvious indications of murder on and in Bruce's body, Wyatt's (lol, Mr. Annoying Wannabe Scary Person) crazy teleportation abilities, the fact that Lincoln was recognized but Michael wasn't (I can understand Alex, though), and... well, I can't think of any others right now, but I'm sure there were lots.
This episode failed to elicit any significant reaction from me at all. But that was okay, actually, because I wasn't in the mood for emotional investment. I noticed that both 2.04 "First Down" and 3.04 "Good Fences" (except the shiv scene, of course) were also sub-par... wonder if it's a tradition. So that's... marginally reassuring.
I'd like to have you in the community, if only to say that I have 1+ members (heh). I don't need psychotic participation. If you end up writing Alex/Pam and/or Alex & Linc, would you mind posting it there? I mean, once I get it up.
